Well done, Christopher! Serious question: how did the H-1B become so pervasive in these situations? I don't get it!

H-1B workers are tied to employer sponsorship, giving universities a more captive (slave) labor pool with less bargaining power and fewer easy exit options, which universities love to exploit. It's really as simple as cheap reliable slave labor that can't leave or demand raises

I was talking to a recently retired Intel worker two weeks ago, never underestimate the self-loathing leftists angle, guy literally told me that he liked hiring Indians because Americans were lazy.

Few personnel decisions touch upper management. Very few. They assume lower levels are doing what needs doing to meet their commits. Hiring gets done daily across the globe without the knowledge of CEOs, CFOs, HR Directors and other Board-level executives. It's thoroughly normal that an organization President would be uninformed about a routine hire someplace in the bowels of the org chart.
