In 2023, I published this article about what I thought was the wildest economics scandal of the year. I was pretty bummed when it received virtually no attention.
So today, I turned it into a YouTube video to finally do the story justice and get it the eyeballs it deserves.
I have finally learned how to maintain eye contact with the camera—the teleprompter helps a lot—and I now have an official theme song, which makes its debut at 1:02.
I am gradually moving away from distributing every YouTube video through Substack. I published several videos last week without emailing them to subscribers. But I am making an exception for this one because this story deserved a much larger audience the first time around.
