Hey Chris,

I come from a wealthy Jewish family. I have an IQ tested a couple of standard deviations above the mean and so did my sister. My sister and I both couldn't get into our target schools, which we had the GPA and test scores to get into. In her case, she was more motivated and took AP classes and acheived an above 4.0 GPA and a near-perfect 35 ACT. Interestingly, the only top school she could get into was NYU as well. Perhaps because the modern DEI policies in some cases see Jews as historically oppressed, but most others see Jews as overachievers who need to be reduced in admissions to their population numbers. She went to NYU. In my case, I was disgruntled at being oppressed on the basis of being a White man (which being Jewish did not shield me from) and dropped out of college entirely. I hope perhaps this can inform your worldview, because for now it seems distorted to me.

Chris’s observation is that a wealthy young woman was able to bypass the normal rules and get into an elite school despite a bad SAT score. This seems consistent with your view of the unfairness of it all.

I’ll add that you probably could have been reasonably successful at a good state school, and graduates of state schools actually do fine in life.

Rigged system, you say? Color me shocked... *yawn*

This kind of wealthy privilege is well known. Nothing new. What I don't like is the play on the Rothschild association. The Rothschilds are a favorite of conspiracy theorists, usually the ones who blame the Jews a lot.

We know that wealthy people of all religions and races get special treatment. I remember my mom telling me that life isn't fair.

Wow, dig deeper into those Epstein-related scholars.

"these are the best schools you could realistically expect to get into with a 1070 SAT score ..."

Maybe she wasn't ' a good test taker." Or just a semi-dunce. Was never going to be a rocket surgeon, but 1070 and billions of dollars got her into NYU - which is one of the most selective schools in the country (location, location, location).

Berenson is a journalist, which is to say a professional douche who can’t help himself. That said, he is way more smart and honest than all but a few, but he occasionally reverts to type. It’s quite annoying. I want to like him but he makes it very hard.

He was a journalist. Now he just feeds "people" like you.

Right back. I feel the same way about you.

Pretty funny. Inbreeding is an IQ killer as demonstrated by societies where it’s common. I am particularly amused (but not surprised) that their greed made them dumb, over time. God gets the last laugh, in the end.

Pretty funny. They're not "inbred."

And Berenson is a rage-whore.

Marrying cousins is inbreeding. Pakistan and Somalia make my point for me. Berenson is a journalist. I take anything he says with a a good deal of skepticism. That said, he is directionally correct on cannabis and Covid vaccines. He isn’t always right but he is willing to actually look at evidence, which almost no news people are willing to do, anymore. In my opinion he still has some big blind spots, but he actually cares about truth.

Arine Rothschild married in, from way outside.

Berenson and COVID vaccines? Sure thing ...

I would never want berensen to call me a douche but I looked up the equivalent of my act score to the SAT and apparently the answer to your question is yes (also true for a large swath of the US population). I wonder why he was chosen to have to go to twitter war with you on this particular issue?
